"Sometimes you can get obsessed with hunting for
old (and sometimes) rare records so it's great to be
reminded that there is great jazz being recorded and
released right now, not to mention being performed live
at clubs around the world. It can also be just as hard
to find the great music amongst all the 'ok' stuff out
there so it's very important for a compilation like
this to introduce people to so many exciting contemporary
jazz musicians/groups.

There come times when one listens
to Dick Schorys Jungle Root or Willis
Jacksons Nuttherin for Stuttherin
and weeps for this musics absence in contemporary
jazz. Perfect Toy comes with this essential compilation
at that perfect time, and makes amends for the rhythmic
wrongs of the past years.

It is an optimal compilation, 5/5
